Malacca : Out & About

During this holiday, much to my delight I was able to visit a few places but never had I went for a trip as random as the one I had last Saturday. I woke up late in the morning on Saturday and while I was having my breakfast at 1o, my dad just randomly decided that we would go down to Malacca for a day trip. By 11.15 my whole family was already in our car and ready to go!

Congrats Jessie for getting 3rd in High Jump!
It was seriously quite scary to see you jump like that.

We went down to have some good food and also to support my cousins who came down from Sabah to compete with other independent chinese schools in track & field. :) I quite like Malacca and I have already been there trice this year, I find it to be a nice place to go when I just feel like getting out of the city. It was a good day and it is always nice when the Lokas reunite :D I hope to see the Ong sisters again soon!

Talking about trips, I'll be away during the Merdeka weekend to go for my church camp in Kuantan (yay!). I bet everybody is looking forward to the long weekend ahead.

I hope you'll have a good one! :)

Oops, caffeine does it again

I have a problem.

To be exact,

a problem with coffee.

I just found out recently that I have a low tolerance towards caffeine and I react quickly when I consume too much of it. sigh. I am not a person who love having drinks with caffeine often because I much prefer sky juice most of the time. However, i start realising my problem a few months ago when I drank a cup of coffee after dinner one day just because I felt like it. The effect of the one little cup was horrid! :( My sister was the poor victim who had to listen to me uttering nonsense till 3am in the morning. And by the way, I also tend to behave really high and hyperactive as i mentioned in my old post.

So after that incident, I told myself that I will never repeat it again but thanks to my negligence I drank a cup of white milk tea in Hong Kong for dinner. However, i was still a little optimistic that a cup of tea wouldn't affect me much since i was so dead tired.

Wrong.

And how wrong I was. :(

I didn't stay up till 3am this time but at 6 am instead! oh yeah, i ended up watching discovery channel in the middle of the night. The show was 'In the womb : Dogs'. Great show! Recently, this week to be exact, I had a huge cup of tea for lunch. Wrong move again. Apparently, it was too much and I was in hyperactive mode again but because I couldn't burn off the excess energy, I felt depressed and nervous instead.

So, my alternative to a nice hot drink now is

a cup of hot chocolate or cocoa
(good stuff!)

P/S : Please do not offer me a cup of coffee/tea (a small cup is okay) unless you intend to help me burn of the energy by listening to m gibberish till late in the night. thank youu. :)

Number My Days

From today, it's exactly one month
until I leave home for my studies.
It's a case of mixed emotions for me.
Quite unexplainable but I'm excited.

pack, prepare & enjoy :)

I believe you are the answer to every tear I've cried
I believe that you are with me
My rising and my light
Give me strength when I am weary
Give me hope when I can't see

Hong Kong Trip

So, i am still on holiday . . .

It's been a great one so far and I am proud to say that I haven't exactly been bumming around doing nothing. In fact, I have been so busy because of my trips and also occasional random events popping up that I hardly had the time to catch any movies in the cinema or clean my room till it is sparkling white.

I haven't been blogging much because . . . well, my excuse is because I have better things that I would prefer to do rather than blogging. (plus I hardly come online nowadays) But since I have some free time in my hands now, I thought I'll just upload some pictures :)

Here are a few snapshots from my Hong Kong trip.

Did i mention it was burning hot?

Hong Kong at night is really quite the scenery

I find this rather interesting

and this is how most of HK looks like, really.

JESUS in Temple Street ! :D

This is my first time going to Hong Kong and honestly, i was initially quite in shock to be surrounded by so many chinese, even though I am one. Yes, It's kinda scary to see so many people of my kind to be pushing, shouting, walking, screaming and eating all together. Quite an experience, I would say and I can't imagine going there if I weren't chinese.

Actually I didn't feel very far from home because HK is very similar to KL in many ways except what i mentioned above. The food there is more on the pricey side  but the portions given are quite big and most stores serve absolutely tasty food. For the food, i'll give 100 stars! :D The second best thing in HK is shopping of course, which was my daily activity since the theme parks were way too crowded because of school holidays. One thing which I didn't like about HK however is how busy and pack everywhere is. If you think our public transport is pack during peak hours, HK is way worse.

All in all, Hong Kong is quite an interesting place to visit and the food would make ones trip worth it but I have to say that there is no place like home. I still have not found a place that has better (and cheaper!) food than my beloved Malaysia. Agree?

Unseen Opportunities

So often we call upon Him to deliver us immediately
when we are faced with difficulties and troubles.
Because we tend to forget that many a times our afflictions are
actually opportunities for us to grow and be
conformed to the image of Christ.
That is what He has reminded me today.

Therefore, we should not only be thankful for the good days
but also be thankful even during the bad times.

As a new phase in my life is about to begin,
I can't help but feel a little worried and even scared.
Well, I can say that I am very much excited also.
But today He has shown me that my circumstances are
opportunities in which His Name may be glorified.
For in my weakness He is made perfect.

Thank you for another day, Lord.

It is good for me to be afflicted
that I might learn Thy statutes
Psalm 119:71
